Our aim at Kendall Academy is to provide the perfect blend of learning and play to support the development of every child in our care.
Our infant program is specifically designed to create a nurturing and stimulating environment that promotes healthy development while ensuring safety and enjoyment. Our experienced educators guide babies in the 3-9 month age range through key developmental milestones in physical, social, emotional, and intellectual growth.
Supporting Your Baby’s Developmental Milestones
Thanks to our small student-to-teacher ratio, our educators provide individualized attention to each infant. This allows them to encourage and support your baby’s growth through hands-on learning and exploration. We believe in tailoring each child’s experience to meet their developmental needs, helping them progress toward their milestones at their own pace.
Age-Appropriate Exploration
At this stage, we aim to foster a fun, engaging environment that encourages exploration, curiosity, and a love of learning. In our bright, well-equipped classrooms, teachers offer one-on-one guidance, ensuring each baby is supported and stimulated to match their developmental level.
Physical Development
From 3 to 9 months, babies experience significant physical changes, and we work to nurture and support these developments. This includes milestones such as sitting up with support, reaching and grasping objects, developing fine motor skills, and beginning to crawl. Babies also start developing sleep and feeding patterns, with many transitioning to fewer naps per day.
Social and Emotional Development
Babies begin to express themselves more clearly and interact with their caregivers at this age. Our educators focus on helping babies recognize familiar faces, respond to their names, and express emotions like joy, frustration, or fear. Babies may begin to show preferences for specific people or objects, imitate sounds or actions, and develop a sense of attachment to caregivers.
Intellectual Development
Intellectual growth is a key focus during these early months. Babies are naturally curious, and we encourage this by providing opportunities for sensory exploration, object manipulation, and social interaction. By the end of the 9 months, babies typically begin to recognize familiar sounds and faces, babble expressively, track objects with their eyes, and explore their environment with increasing interest.
At Kendall Academy, we’re committed to supporting your baby’s growth in every area, creating a foundation for learning that will last a lifetime.
